I was eyeing this DÔEN top all throughout my no spend month, and finally went ahead and bought it.
I put a lot of thought into this purchase, and it did not disappoint – when you finally get something you’ve really considered, it is so much more gratifying than any impulse purchase.
I was between two sizes for this top, like I usually am, and I went with the larger size. I wanted to ensure I had an oversized fit. The arms are a bit long, but I’m happy with the way the body fits (especially across the shoulders, where clothing tends to run tight on me), and I don’t really mind sleeve length at all.
This is a lot more feminine than the minimal clothing I usually wear, but it is one of those pieces that makes me feel so good that I didn’t really care how it fit in with the rest of my closet. (Capsule wardrobe fail 🙂 ).
When I got to the office, my coworker who had seen my Instagram post of this top came over to my desk and said, “Let me see that top! You look like a princess that just woke up and got dressed by woodland creatures!” So, basically the ultimate wardrobe compliment.
Do you have any wardrobe outliers that you love? That don’t fit your day-to-day look, but you don’t care?
